Tanks Arts Centre

Three former WWII oil storage tanks, their iron gates framed by century-old fig tree roots, make for an unlikely arts venue inside the Cairns Botanic Gardens precinct. The industrial shells now hold visual art exhibitions, live music, dance, and theatre, alongside workshops spanning photography, painting, and digital practice. History and subtropical overgrowth do most of the atmospheric work.
